Fly Fishing 201: Advanced Nymphing & Line Management
Ready to take your fly fishing skills to the next level? Fly Fishing 201 is designed for anglers who have mastered the basics and want to become more effective on the water. This hands-on course focuses on the essential skills that consistently catch more fish: reading water, nymphing techniques, and line management.
The class begins with one hour of dry-land instruction covering trout behavior, identifying productive holding water, rigging effective nymph setups, and understanding the fundamentals of mending for a drag-free drift. Students will then spend three hours on the water applying these concepts through guided practice and real-world fishing scenarios.
Participants will learn how to identify feeding lanes and current seams, improve strike detection, execute effective mends, and maintain better control of their flies throughout the drift. By the end of the course, anglers will have the confidence and skills needed to fish nymphs more effectively and consistently catch more trout.
Prerequisite: Completion of Fly Fishing 101 or equivalent fly casting and basic fishing experience.
Duration: 4 Hours (1 Hour Classroom / 3 Hours On-Water Instruction)
