This class takes place on a piece of private property on the South Platte near Lake George where Arbor Anglers has exclusive access. This class is for people that have experience with euro-nymphing and want to dial in their game on some amazing water.
Requirements:
As an advanced class participants are expected to understand the basic theories of euro nymphing, as we will be using these theories as the foundation for the advanced class. Without understanding the basics, participants may find these advanced techniques frustrating. It is imperative that you are aware of your skill level and limitations so you can get the most out of this class.
If you have any questions about if this class is the right fit for you, please reach out to James or Nico email: shop@arboranglers.com phone: (720) 512-1416! We will also be offering on-the-water Introduction to Euro Nymphing classes.
Equipment for this class is not provided, and the expectation is that you have the appropriate length rods (Euro specific 10ft or greater), leaders built, and euro style flies. If you would like to experiment with different brands of rods besides your current euro style rod we will have some available.
Overview:
The class will start off with a lecture going over advanced euro nymphing techniques, styles, and leader building, and then proceed to the water where the instruction will continue. Everything from different casting techniques, understanding how to fight fish with a euro setup, and how to fish different water types with your euro setup. The instruction will continue for approximately 2-3 hours, and then you will have access to the private water until 5pm. The water is full of rainbows, browns, and cutbows reaching the 28” size. Your new PB may be on this trip! To offer our students the best experience we are keeping the class to a maximum of 7 individuals, and two instructors!
Instructors:
- Ben McGee: A boulder native and an expert fly-fishing instructor that has been primarily focused on teaching Euro techniques here on the Front Range for over a decade. Fishing countless days stateside and abroad with international superstar talents from Portugal, Spain, France, Finland, and the U.S., Ben has developed unique and comprehensive teaching methods for the entire spectrum of “western U.S. style” fly angler.
- James Parker: Arbor Anglers shop owner.
We will meet up in Golden the morning of the class and convoy up to the property. Further details will be provided as our roster fills.
A valid Fishing Licence is required to participate. Please review our refund policy.

It’s hard to put into word on the experience but let me just say this. If you’re interesting in learning Euro Nymphing take the beginner class and this class. The knowledge and confidence I now have out there on my own euro Nymphing is night and day. If I did it on my own I would still be struggling for months. Maybe a year. This class was amazing. Amazing instructors and amazing anglers. Get ready to become a sponge because of all the knowledge you’re going to be given.
Forget guided trips!! This class will do more for everyone in the long run. I loved loved loved this class and will betaking more classes.
Thanks for doing these classes guys!! I had one HELL of a great time!!
Cheers!
A lot of valuable information and attention from both Ben and James. It was obvious how much they genuinely cared about each individuals success. They seem to love teaching. I was a bit less experienced than much of the group and still got all the attention I needed. I very much recommend the euro clinic. And I feel pretty darn sure that they take the same attitude into all their classes and clinics.
This was one of the more enjoyable classes I have ever taken. Ben McGee is a world class angler, and James Parker is a world class host (and a darn good fisherman in his own right!). Together they provided a fantastic educational experience. Ben is approachable, wields an incredible amount of angling knowledge, and he is a patient and capable educator. His instruction has given me a new found appreciation for the versatility of my euro rod. I caught fish on nymphs, dry droppers, single dries and streamers all in the same day, all on the same rod. So cool.
